My experience at the bilingual camp was pretty good. It was tiring but at the same time fun. I never knew how much I could give to kids in Taiwan just by teaching them English. I thought that English wasn’t a big deal since I know it, but to those kids they thinks it’s awesome to be able to even know a little. During the camp I had to listen to everyone, since I was the youngest of all the leaders. So that taught me that I had to listen more and not try to do it my way.

At the camp I made new friends, one was in our group named Kellie, I really didn’t know her before at all, we just said like hi and then that was it, but through the camp I got to know her more. I made friends with the kids and with other leaders.

One is a guy named Kevin, he was a good friend all the way even after the camp. Coincidentally we were in the same group, we had a great time, and all the kids loved him and me. He took me to see cool places in Dong Shi like the shore next to the ocean, it was fun. There was a kid named Peter, we taught him English, and in the second day after the camp we saw him at the church we went to. It was funny because he would find us every day after the camp to play. On the last day he came to the church and he said he wanted to be a Christian. My dad and a few other people prayed for him. After that he was very happy. He was changed.

Every day got more tiring, harder, exhausting and people get more irritated by the heat, but I tried my best, every day we would wake up at 6:30 in the morning and at 7:00 am we would do our devotions. Though some how the kids got up earlier than we did but were still so energized, that always woke me up. I was happy to see that they were glad to come every day. That always made me wants to play and talk to them more.

Before the camp I wanted to go my brother said it was fun and I got very excited, but I needed to be baptized in order to go. So I made a choice to get baptized and go, I felt like it was a good chance for me to serve the Lord in ministries, and to learn new things since I have never done this before. I’ve learned new things that will help me all my life, like listening to other, and following all the expectations that are required to do things.

After the camp I had to go to the next camp right after. I felt accomplished that I finished the whole camp. I also felt sad that I was leaving. I had gotten pretty close to people there and some of the kids.

I hope those kids will grow up to know god and be a Christian, or even get baptized, and their families will know god too. If I ever get the chance to do this again I would. My experience was way better than I had expected it to be. If you guys get the chance to go or the opportunity you should it is an experience that is unforgettable with all the fun and the laughter it is truly amazing how god can bring people together that this in just a few days.
